Dear ASEAN engineering colleagues
We are pleased to announce that the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) has assumed the Chair of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) and will be hosting the 42nd Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations, CAFEO 42. This event will take place at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from 22nd to 24th October 2024.
One of the most anticipated sessions during CAFEO 42 will be the AFEO ENGINEERING CONFERENCE, where we will have the opportunity to exchange valuable information, insights and ideas with our fellow engineers from the ASEAN region. To make this session even more engaging, we invite colleagues to submit papers and contribute their thoughts in line with the conference theme of CHARTING ASEAN GROWTH WITH DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION, SMART ENGINEERING AND GREEN SOLUTIONS.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
- The primary author must be listed first.
- Abstracts should be in English, not exceeding 200 words; any exceeding this limit will not be considered.
- Abstract titles should be no more than 20 words.
- Please refer to the important dates outlined above. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 April 2024. Final acceptance notifications will be sent out by 15 May, 2024.
- Abstracts must align with specific themes (Click here).
- Prior to submission, ensure all necessary approvals are obtained, and your availability as a potential speaker is confirmed.
- Authors are not required to submit full technical papers.
REVIEW CRITERIA FOR ABSTRACTS
Evaluation of Submitted papers will be based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to CAFEO42 themes.
- Clear problem statement and supported by results or case studies.
- Introduction of innovative ideas and approaches.
- Future-ready solutions ready for implementation.
- Absence of bias or commercialism, focusing on quality content.
- Coherence, structure, and ease of understanding.
- In essence, abstracts presenting original problem definitions, practical solutions supported by research, and free from commercial bias will receive higher ratings.
