It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 42nd Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO 42). It is both an honour and a privilege to host this prestigious event in Sabah, a state known not only for its breathtaking natural beauty but also for its growing engineering and technical services sectors, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, technology integration, energy, and many other emerging sectors.
As the Chairman of IEM Sabah, I am particularly proud to showcase the contributions of our local engineering community. Synonymous with Sabah’s aspirations to transform into a hub for technological advancement by encouraging innovation and the integration of technology, CAFEO 42 offers an excellent opportunity for Sabah to present its expertise to the region and beyond, while learning from the incredible work being done by our counterparts across ASEAN.
I am glad to see that the topics presented at this conference covers the engineering issues that are most pertinent to our current landscape. This includes renewable energy, engineering education enhancement, and even the formulation of policies towards a sustainable future.
